Hunting News
This season has seen excellent momentum, with guests travelling from far and wide to join us in the veld.
We had the pleasure of hosting eight hunters from Serbia in South Africa, with a particularly memorable buffalo hunt in the Theunissen area of the Free State, alongside successful Tsesebe and Blesbok hunts. The energy, camaraderie and spirit around the fires each evening made it a standout trip for all involved.
At the same time, Hendrik has been guiding a Spanish group, as well as two German groups, making this one of our busiest and most rewarding stretches of the year.
Looking ahead, bookings for 2026 hunting packages are already well underway, with several packages secured and availability filling up quickly. The continued support and trust from our international and local hunters are sincerely appreciated.
Recent Hunting Highlights
The past few weeks have produced a strong variety of successful hunts across regions, each bringing its own sense of reward and achievement:
- Buffalo Bull – A meaningful and successful hunt in the Free State;
- Blesbok – A solid and satisfying result for all involved;
- Springbok – A smooth and successful outing in excellent conditions;
- Kudu Bull – A proud moment to close a good day in the bush;
- Impala – A clean and rewarding hunt shared in great spirits;

- Tsesebe – A special and memorable addition to the season.
Hunting at its best is measured not only by the result, but by the respect, connection and experience shared along the way — something we are proud to uphold with every client.

From the Bush – A Light-hearted Moment
Not every surprise in the veld comes on four legs.
On a recent early morning walk to the hide, one of our hunters walked straight into a perfectly spun orb spider web stretched across the path. A sudden hop, a startled shout, and a great deal of laughter from the team later, he had a story that outlasted the morning hunt.
The spider, of course, remained unfazed — and the tale earned its place in campfire history.
Just another reminder that the bush has a sense of humour too.
Looking Ahead
With the season in full swing and 2026 packages already booking fast, we remain deeply grateful for every guest who shares this journey with us. Whether hunting, travelling, or resting with us at Die Dam, your support fuels everything we do.
We look forward to welcoming many more of you in the months ahead.
With warm regards,
Hendrik, Trudi & the Team
