Namibian Skies, German Hunts & Coastal Adventures
As 2025 draws to a close, our campfires have burned bright with good company, full hunting days, and heartfelt moments across Namibia and South Africa. From the bushveld to the coast, this season has reminded us how blessed we are to share Africa’s beauty with friends from around the world.
A Welcome from Hendrik (Senior)
What a year it’s been — early mornings tracking in golden light, evenings of laughter under wide skies, and friendships formed around the fire. Each hunt, each handshake, each shared story reminds me why this work is more than a livelihood; it’s a calling.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in 2025. May 2026 bring more journeys, more laughter, and more memories made in the bush.

A Note from Hendrik (Junior)
From guiding in the veld to swapping boots for the beach, these past months have been pure adventure. Hosting hunters from Croatia and Germany has been a highlight — people who arrived as clients and left as friends. Here’s to more footprints in the sand and stories shared around the fire.

The Bush Telegraph
October and November have been alive with activity, laughter, and connection. We welcomed groups from Croatia and Germany, filled our days with adventure, and our nights with good conversation and campfire spirit. From the heart of the bush to the breezy shores of Swakopmund, these months have captured the very soul of Hendrik & Trudi Safaris.
Recent Hunting Highlights – Success in the Field and Beyond
October and November brought an exceptional run of hunts — a perfect blend of selection, meat, and trophy experiences carried out with care and respect.
Our teams guided clients through a remarkable stretch, harvesting over 100 Springbok and 50 Oryx, along with Wildebeest, Tsesebe, and a magnificent Eland Bull. Each outing reflected our commitment to sustainable management and ethical practice.
When the rifles were set aside, the adventure continued at Swakopmund, where rods were cast from the shore with proud catches — a Milk Shark and a Bronze Whaler Shark— closed the chapter on an unforgettable few weeks.
Weather Watch – Namibia (as of 12 November 2025)
It’s heating up nicely across Namibia! Around the Central Highlands and Windhoek, temperatures are in the low 30s with the first afternoon thunderstorms rolling in — those magical clouds that cool the air and leave the bush smelling fresh again. Evenings are perfect for a braai under the stars.
Down at the coast in Swakopmund, mornings start with a light mist before clearing to mild, breezy days — ideal for beach walks and fishing, though a light jacket still comes in handy.
Hunting with Purpose
Ethical hunting is conservation in action — sustaining wildlife, supporting communities, and protecting Africa’s natural balance. At Hendrik & Trudi Safaris, we’re proud to uphold a tradition that honours the land, respects the animals, and values every hunter who walks these paths with integrity.

Smile of the Week
One of our Croatian hunters discovered that a warthog’s mock charge can make a man move faster than he thought possible! After plenty of laughter (and no harm done), the story became the entertainment of the week — proof that Africa always keeps you on your toes.
Thought for the Month
As Christmas approaches, Africa celebrates in her own way — with sunsets instead of snow, storms instead of sleigh bells, and the laughter of friends and family gathered beneath wide skies.
If you find yourself under an acacia tree or beside a crackling fire this festive season, take a moment to feel the heartbeat of this land — steady, wild, and full of life.
From all of us at Hendrik & Trudi Safaris, may your Christmas be filled with peace, good company, and the enduring magic of Africa.
