Hello, dear friends!
What a week it’s been! Once again, we found ourselves surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Namibia, sharing our passion for hunting with some truly wonderful people. We had the pleasure of welcoming clients from the Netherlands and reconnecting with old friends from Scotland. It was a real joy catching up and heading out on the hunts together. The results were fantastic—Oryx, Warthog, Duiker, Springbok, and even a few Rock Hyraxes were harvested. But what made it extra special was that this was our first time hosting in our newly renovated Omitara Lodge. Seeing everyone’s reactions made all the challenging work worthwhile.
Looking ahead, we’re gearing up for a busy week. We’ll be heading south to meet a fresh group of clients who are eager to try our popular package of 14 springboks and 6 large animals. It’s going to be another exciting adventure, and we can’t wait to get started.
Weather Watch
You can feel spring trying to make its way in—temperatures are slowly creeping up, and the days are getting warmer. Even the mornings and evenings are less chilly now, though things are still cool down south. We’re all eagerly awaiting the first rains of the season to settle the dust and bring the green grass back to life. After the grey of winter, it’ll be a real treat to see the fields come alive with colourful flowers and hear the birds singing again.
PH Diaries: Hendrik’s Corner
Last week was one for the books. I had the privilege of guiding a Scottish grandfather and his grandson on their first hunt here in Namibia. The boy was a bit nervous at first—who wouldn’t be? It’s a big step hunting game for the first time. But as soon as he climbed onto the truck and got into the rhythm of things, you could see the anxiety melt away. Watching him take his first shot and seeing the pride in his grandfather’s eyes—that’s what makes this job so rewarding. We even honoured the tradition of smearing oryx blood on his face to celebrate his first buck, a moment neither of us will forget.
Sunday Smiles
One of my favourite traditions is our Sunday lunch. Every week, Trudi and Bianca cook up a storm, and we all gather around the table like one big family. Last Sunday was especially fun because we were waiting for our Scottish friends to arrive. When they showed up with those hilarious Scottish hats, the whole place erupted in laughter. Of course, we all had to try them on. It was a day full of smiles and good times, the kind of memories that stay with you.
Camp Developments
With our tented camp finished, we’re already onto our next project. Trudi’s parents are coming to stay with us, so we’re building them a home right next to ours. Last week, my father-in-law came down from South Africa to help out, which was great. This week, we’re tackling the plumbing. We’ve also installed three large water tanks, and I’ve got big plans for them, but right now, the focus is on getting the new house ready. It’s all coming together, bit by bit.
Light for the Children
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported our charity, Light for the Children. Last week, we received some much-needed clothing sponsorships, and I can’t express how grateful we are. Every piece of clothing makes a difference in these kids’ lives. If you can bring anything from home—even just one item—it would mean the world to us. Your generosity is making a real impact, and we couldn’t do it without you.
Birthday Shout-Outs
A special shout-out to our clients celebrating birthdays this month! We hope you have a fantastic day and that the year ahead brings you everything you wish for.

Final Thoughts
As always, I want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support. Your trust in us is what keeps this place thriving and allows us to do what we love. We’re excited about the week ahead and can’t wait to welcome our new clients. Here’s to another wonderful week filled with adventure, laughter, and, of course, some successful hunts.
Take care and warm Hunting Cheers,
